An Intelligent ThrillerWell written and smart, this thriller by Abrahams is full of twists and mystery. I couldn't stop reading but am not surprised. It's the 3rd by this writer that I've read, each of them 5 stars. Its a little hard to get into at the beginning but once the government investigator with the impossible name shows up it's easier. For a fun read, he can't be beat.
I will never prefer this author's hardcore mystery/suspense over the Chet and Bernie books, but this is still a competent and well-written thriller. I figured out most of the story about 2/3 of the way through, but it didn't lessen my enjoyment of the book. Well worth a read.
This book was exactly what I needed at the moment - a quick, easy read. I enjoyed the suspense, even though I pretty much figured out the ending by the time I was about half way done. Recommend to anyone who likes mystyer/suspense novels.
About half way through the book, I figured out the mystery, but I didn't have any idea how it was all going to play out. Very good book, I definitely want to read more by this author.

I got this book and Pressure Drop from the library at the same time. I started reading this one because it looked like it had the best plot. On page 55 I decided I was feeling kind of disgusted with this book. I picked up Pressure Drop hoping it was better. It was. So much better.I returned to hard rain hoping that it will get better. This was a book that had been sitting unread on my shelf for a very long time. It was a good mystery/thriller with interesting characters. A relatively quick read with a good plot and enough twists to keep you wondering until the end. It was a bit confusing at the start as you are just thrown into the story without much set up. Overall, I would recommend it.
I liked this. Unexpected grit from my favorite feel-good mystery writer!

I enjoyed it, though not as much as I usually enjoy Abrahams' books. Some nice twists and turns, and I could definitely feel the angst of Jessie's character.
More twists than a pretzelVery enjoyable read. The plot twists were unexpected and I thought the characters were well developed. Looking forward to reading more by this author.
